Erin Dudley Forbes Charter School
October 2004
Dear Friends:
All my life I dreamed and envisioned a small community school. I tailored my life and career goals to accomplish just that.
EDFCS’ vision is clear:
Small class size
Dedicated and caring educators
Academic After School Program
Student Assistance Team
Uniforms
Character Development
Our mission is to provide the very best early childhood education, K-5. We will build on what our learners already know, prior knowledge. Our academic foundation or focus is children’s literature. We intend to use children’s literature to teach all subjects. Moreover, time will be given to our students to experience reading and writing as academic tools. Our desire is to heavily involve our parents and community in their role as primary educators of their children. We plan to create a supportive learning atmosphere for all invested parties.
EDFCS supports a commitment to lifetime learning, character development, and community building. Please contact us, if you are interested in our students participating in any community events.
I hope that you find this website informative. Please feel free to share your thoughts related to the school’s success.
We are a small school and as such we are always in need of supplies and funds. If you would like to support our work, our needs are listed below.
Ø Daily needs include: hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
Ø Academic needs include: paper, pencils, glue and scissors.
Ø We are currently looking for a sponsor to finance our computer lab upgrade, which will cost approximately $2,000.
Ø Last Spring, the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority donated over 500 books to start our library. Currently, we are in need of bookshelves to house those books.
Ø Our annual auction is held in the fall. Contact us for more information.
Ø Our Christmas Dinner (invitation only) will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, in December at 6:00 p.m. The ticket price is $50.
Ø The Erin Dudley Forbes Charter School's Annual Road Race is held every 2nd Saturday in April. The cost to enter is $13 before race day, $15 on race day and the cost for sponsorship is $100.
